Meet Mary

I grew up in Minnesota and my strong Minnesotan values tell me we can do a better job at the State Capitol. I have worked in business, government, and nonprofit sectors and will use this experience to work across party lines to improve the lives of people in our communities.

I served three years on the Inver Grove Heights Planning Commission and am currently on the IGH Housing Committee. The Housing Committee has worked cooperatively and successfully to increase affordable housing for seniors and other members of the community.

It would be an honor to have your support to bring my experience working with others to the State Capitol. Listening to you, communicating with you, and working together for progress are important to me.

contact me to share your thoughts and find out more about specific issues.

Thank you,

"Now is the time to bring people together,
listen to new ideas and create a vision for our collective future.  Let’s build relationships and work toward solutions that foster strong job growth, protect the environment, and create prosperity for all."

More About Mary

Mary T’Kach has lived in Inver Grove Heights for 29 years. She is an employee of Ramsey County where she serves the public through her work focusing on energy-efficiency and environmental issues, which help sustain the financial and ecological priorities of the County. She currently volunteers as the Chair of the Inver Grove Heights Housing Committee and has served on the Inver Grove Heights Planning Commission.  Her professional experience includes working in the nonprofit, corporate, and local government sectors.
Prior to working for the County, Mary was employed by the Aveda Corporation in Blaine, MN for ten years leading its Environmental Sustainability department where she was responsible for developing and delivering on core business strategies and financial goals, designing and implementing corporate wide education and outreach programs, and leading the revitalization of the company’s corporate giving and volunteer program. She worked closely with indigenous communities and business executives to create ethical sourcing programs that strengthened economic opportunities for both the company and the first-nation cultures.
Previously, she spent 16 years working with St. Paul neighborhoods developing and implementing award-winning energy-efficiency, recycling and community-based programs, and managing an annual budget of over $2 million dollars as part of the work of the St. Paul Neighborhood Energy Consortium (NEC), a non-profit she helped found in 1985. (The NEC is now the Neighborhood Energy Connection.)
Mary has held volunteer positions locally and nationally including serving on the board of directors of the Family Housing Fund, Mississippi Market Food Coop, and the National Recycling Coalition. She was a St. Paul Companies Leadership Initiatives in Neighborhoods grant recipient, and a Salzburg Fellow, in Salzburg Austria. She graduated cum laude from Milton College in Milton, WI.
